Our 16th century stone cottage rental in the Dordogne, once part of the Chateau Marqueyssac estate, nestles beneath the Chateau in the peaceful hamlet of Le Luc.
You can enjoy this tranquil rural retreat whilst exploring this beautiful area with its wealth of historic chateaux & bastide towns.
This restored 16th century stone cottage situated in the Dordogne valley offers spacious and comfortable accommodation for 2/4 people with 1 double bedroom plus a double sofabed and a single folding guest bed. The large west facing covered terrace is the perfect place to unwind after a days activities and to watch the spectacular sunsets.
All rooms have a wealth of beamed ceilings & stone walls. There is a fully equipped kitchen forming part of a large living area with inglenook fireplace & wood burning stove. The kitchen is equipped with electric oven, fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher. There is a washing machine in the 'cellier'.
The separate sitting room provides comfortable seating with views over the hamlet plus TV with freeview UK channels & DVD player.
The romantic double bedroom has an iron bedstead, juliet balcony, stone walls and floors.
The bathroom consists of shower, handbasin and WC.
The cottage is ideal as a base for sightseeing as Sarlat, Beynac, La Roque Gageac and Domme are all in close proximity with Castelnaud village within a 15 mins walk.
Castelnaud has a range of shops and restaurants at the riverside which should provide for all your needs. The river offers canoeing, swimming, fishing and boat rides.
The cottage is available all year round. Weekend and midweek breaks are available from October to May, heating is extra from the beginning of October to the end of April. Long term lets also considered. Please contact the owners.
